Letter from ClubLink


We hope that you and your family are well and staying safe.


Thank you for staying home and being patient in these challenging times.  We are grateful to frontline workers and their families, who continue to protect and serve us during these times and to our employees who have prepared for the season ahead under unprecedented circumstances.


In this climate, we know that a visit to Muskoka may not be your first thought, but I want you to know the safety of our guests and employees is our top priority.  An advantage of a Rocky Crest visit is all rooms have outside private entrances, no elevators and lots of outdoor open space to enjoy, that in its use physical distancing is natural.  In response to the ongoing COVID-19 threat, and to be prepared for operating in a changed world, we’ve developed a series of safety protocols within our new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to keep guests and employees save. Highlights include new protocols around occupancy, guest arrival and departure, limiting use of restaurant areas and resort amenities, general physical distancing and overall property sanitization practices.


We will continue to follow the guidance of government and health officials with respect to the precautionary protocols deemed necessary. We are also collaborating with other resort operators in Ontario to ensure there is continuity in the best practices we implement.  In the meantime, we are grateful for the support, feedback and questions from our community of resort guests.  To be fully transparent, all the details of our SOP will be available on our website, noting that these evolve as we learn more about best practices and at the advice and experience of experts from all fields.


With growing global concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic, we want you to know that the health, safety and well-being of our employees, members and guests is our top priority and we are following the lead of public health authorities at this important time. While the current public health risk associated with coronavirus is low, it is a fluid situation and we will continue to monitor developments very closely.

​General Best Practices

Hand Hygiene

  • Wash hands often and for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer. 

  • Avoid contact with face and eyes with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid common greetings, such as handshakes and instead greet with a wave.

  • Avoid contact with high frequency touch points.

  • Where possible, wear gloves when interacting with  high frequency touch points. Do not touch your face with gloved hands. Take care when removing gloves. Ensure you wash your hands after removing them. Refer to the SOP for procedure details.


Protecting Yourself and Others

  • Stay home if:

    • You are feeling unwell,

    • You have travelled outside Canada in the past 14 days,

    • You have a new or worsening cough,

    • You have been advised by a medical professional to self-isolate.

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.

  • Self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 which includes a cough, fever and difficulty breathing. If any symptoms are felt go home immediately, notify your supervisor, complete the self-assessment ( and follow the instructions.

  • Practice respiratory etiquette, including coughing and sneezing into your arm. Dispose of tissues immediately into trash receptacles.

Physical Distancing

  • Always maintain a distance of at least 2 meters from others.

  • Maintain a safe distance while handing goods and taking payment.

  • Install barriers between cashiers and customers; this can include plexiglass or markings on the floor to ensure at least 2 meters between customer and cashier.

  • Add floor markings and barriers to manage traffic flow and physical distancing between customers when a line is required or is possible.

  • Limit the number of people allowed in the same area at any time.

  • Assign staff to ensure customers are maintaining safe physical distances in congested areas like entrances/exits and check-outs.

  • All seating areas (both inside and outside) that encourage group gatherings shall be removed.

  • Establish rules for any work that requires workers within 2 meters of each other. This could include full personal protective equipment.

Cleaning Protocols


ClubLink is implementing plans to protect both our guests, members and employees with new Standard Operating Procedures to keep all safe, including social distancing and enhanced cleaning procedures.


Check In and Out

  • Barrier between cashiers and customer or markings on the floor to ensure at least 2 meters between customer and cashier.

  • Limit guests from gathering while waiting in line, use signage and control access to the building.

  • Only credit and debit are accepted (no cash) and payments taken in advance when possible. Encourage room/Member charges (no signature required). 

  • Guest identification for credit/debit – ask guest to show.

  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be available on front desk for guest use. If available, also provide disinfecting wipes. 

  • All Key Cards to be disinfected using Disinfecting Protocol.


Guest Rooms

  • Enhanced cleaning focus on high touch areas including switches, handles, knobs, major bathroom surfaces, climate controls, television, remotes and hard surfaces.

  • Rooms will not be cleaned for stay overs.

  • Restock guest rooms daily by dropping off room supplies at door (shampoo, conditioner, towels etc.).

  • Rooms with kitchenettes: provide instructions to guests to pre-wash all plates and cutlery. Provide disposable (plastic and paper) supplies.

  • Rooms without kitchenettes: replace any glassware with disposable.

  • After cleaning wipe down all cleaning equipment with a disinfectant cleaner before being put back on the cleaning cart.


Public Areas and Washrooms

  • Designated public washrooms will be available with only one individual allowed at a time. Non-essential supplies will be removed.

  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be available outside of washrooms and in public areas.

  • Kleenex will be available in washrooms and public areas.

  • In addition to routine cleaning and disinfecting of washrooms, an enhanced hard surface disinfection will be applied twice a day.


Food and Beverage

  • Barrier between cashiers and customer or markings on the floor to ensure at least 2 meters between customer and cashier.

  • Only credit and debit are accepted (no cash)  when possible. Encourage room or member charges (no signature required).

  • Items shall be provided to the customer in a bag with disposable containers and cutlery.



  • No touch pins & cups

  • Enhanced cleaning of facility including pull carts and power carts

  • Enhanced cleaning of washrooms

  • Limited access to Clubhouse

  • Limited food and beverage to include only pre-packaged items


Recreation and Other Services

  • Chaise lounges and Muskoka chairs will be cleaned daily.

  • Canoes, kayaks, pedal boats and paddle boards will be cleaned daily.   Cleaning supplies will be left for guests to self clean between every use.

  • PFD's (life jackets) will be available for sale at the front desk.

Resort Amenities Available


We have opened with ongoing social distancing measures.   You should expect the resort experience to be adjusted this season for the safety of both our guests and team members.  This will be re-evaluated based on government regulations and public health authority recommendations on a regular basis throughout the year.

All indoor public spaces, including but not limited to, the Front Desk, Golf Shop, Restaurants (including take out pick up), etc. require mandatory masks wearing by all employees, guests and visitors.


Guest Rooms

  • Payment by credit card, debit and member account only accepted.   No cash.

  • All guest handouts (maps, folios, menus, etc.) will be e-mailed to guests.

  • All guests provided with information on COVID-19 operating procedures and social distancing guidelines.  


Food and Beverage

  • Rocky Crest will be offering a combination of inside dining, outdoor patios and take out.

  • Shared BBQ area is open and available on a first come, first served based.




  • A staff member will greet you upon arrival and prior to accessing the parking area or any amenities of the Club. The greeter will provide instructions related to the local Club operational protocols.
    Practice physical distancing and respiratory etiquette at all times. Keep one flagstick length away from others, avoid touching surfaces, sanitize your hands frequently, avoid common greetings such as handshakes, and please do not gather in groups to socialize at any time.

  • The bag drop structure will be available to drop off your clubs. However, our golf services staff will not be handling golfer’s equipment including: unloading from your vehicle, placing equipment on power carts or push carts. Please self-serve from the marked staging areas of sanitized and ready to use power carts or push carts.
    Golf carts are single use only except where individuals reside in the same household and sanitized after each use
    Please check-in with the starter exactly 5 minutes prior to your tee time. This is critical for distancing purposes and keeping the tee on time.  
    Practice facilities will be available for golfers with a pre-booked tee time only
    Washroom facilities will be available

  • You will notice the absence of certain course furniture items such as benches; and ball washers are not in service
    Water coolers or water stations are not in service. Water and other refreshments will be available for purchase from one designated location. 
    Bunker rakes will be removed from the course and bunkers will be temporarily played as lift, clean and place. Please use your foot to smooth your footprints as you exit a bunker.
    Flagsticks have been labelled ‘do not touch’ and golfers are instructed to keep flagsticks in the hole. The hole will be modified to allow you to remove your ball from the hole without touching the hole with your hand.
    On-course washrooms will be available

  • Designated areas have been created for the safe return and sanitization of power carts and push carts. When returning your cart after unloading your personal items, we ask that you dispose of all garbage in the bins provided at the cart return area.
    In order to avoid potential social gatherings, we ask that you depart immediately following your round


Recreation and Other Services

  • Walking trails are open.

  • The Lake Joseph Pool is open with social distancing expectations.

  • Waterfront open with restrictions. Limited sun chaise and chairs available.

  • Canoes, paddle boards, kayaks and paddle boats are available.

    • Self-serve sanitization station with instructions and contact information.

    • PFD’s (Life jackets) will not be provided.  Limited PFD’s will be available for sale.

  • Tennis, basketball and volleyball courts are available.   You must provide your own equipment.

  • Recreation facilities closed include Armishaw Building, pools, hot tub, water equipment, family activities and boat cruises.

  • Bonfire will be available if there is no municipal fire ban and if guests following physical distancing expectations.

  • Fitness room is closed.

  • Luggage assistance is not available.
