The Festival of the Sound

In the nearby town of Parry Sound a world-renowned classical music festival is held every summer. Just a 20-minute drive from Rocky Crest Golf Resort, this festival has been taking place on the shores of Georgian Bay each year since 1979 and has become recognized as one of Canada's preeminent classical music festivals. With classical music being at the heart of the festival, the concert series has grown to include jazz and folk artists within it's lineup too.

Regularly held at The Charles W. Stocky Centre, which is also home to the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, The Festival of the Sound spans nearly 3 weeks this year from July 19th to August 5th and includes a list of exceptional award-winning musicians.

The Festival has been the recipient of numerous awards including two Lieutenant Governor Award for the Arts, and has been listed within the Top 100 multiple times by Festival and Events Ontario, making it a must-go happening for music lovers.

With most concerts taking place inside the Stocky Centre, The Festival of the Sound also hosts special events such as masterclasses, gala dinners, and live music aboard the Island Queen Cruise Ship, which docks right next to the Stocky Centre on beautiful Georgian Bay.
